Under Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP, ZONG locks up immediately.
ZONG for DOS requires direct hardware access to your system’s high-resolution timer (and your sound card, if sound is enabled). Windows NT, 2000, and XP do not allow direct hardware access, causing the program to lock up.
There is no workaround. ZONG for DOS cannot be run under Windows NT, 2000, or XP. You will need to reboot into Windows 95, 98 or DOS in order to play ZONG for DOS on a Windows NT/2000/XP machine, or instead play Zong 3000 (which is designed for Windows NT, 2000, and XP).
